Where it started and how we got here...
I was first introduced to this wonderful breed in 1993 when my parents and I purchased our first rottweiler puppy. That was, Taj's Alluring "Demi" v Zaber, HS, CGC, JHD. Demi was an amazing dog and is where my love for this breed started. I showed "Demi" in conformation and spent hours upon hours doing obedience, tracking and herding activities and competitions as well. Demi was the first rottweiler to win 'High in Herding Trial' at an American Rottweiler Club National Specialty once AKC made rottweilers eligible to compete in herding competitions (1996).
Demi was just the beginning, though, and we were blessed with several more wonderful rottweilers over the years. What began as a casual hobby for my parents and I became a huge part of our lives and we soon found ourselves at a dog show, herding trial, or an obedience class several days a week and almost every weekend!
After I went to college and graduate school our activities in the purebred dog sports waned, as did our activitities in the rottweiler breed. In 2020, though, after the unexpected loss of "Luna" (a wonderful Black Lab that my family and I had adopted), I found myself with a desire to, once again, have a rottweiler in the family. After not having rottweiler for over 9 years, my wife and I decided to reach out to my friends and breed mentors, Harold and Sharon Marples of Von Marc Rottweilers. As luck would have it, they had a beautiful little "show" puppy available and ten days later, CH. Von Marc's Luminous Beauty in the Night, CGC ("Layla") joined our family.
So here we are! My wife Melissa, my four kids, Keaton, Kailey, Dallez & Jackson and I are starting fresh with our desire and committment to preserve and enjoy this wonderful breed!
